Capgemini snaps up Unity’s digital twin professional services to enhance real-time 3D visualization capabilities
In a significant expansion of their strategic alliance, Capgemini and Unity Technologies have announced a pivotal deal where Capgemini will acquire Unity’s Digital Twin Professional Services arm. This transaction, expected to close in the second quarter of 2024, marks a milestone in the use of real-time 3D (RT3D) visualization software for the industrial application of digital twins. Unity’s Digital Twin Professional Services team, renowned for developing RT3D solutions that drive business results, will join Capgemini, creating one of the largest pools of Unity enterprise developers globally. This move is set to accelerate the iteration and implementation of RT3D visualization software, enabling end users to envision, understand, and interact with physical systems in unprecedented ways.
The integration of Unity’s team within Capgemini is expected to extend the reach and scale of Unity’s software, facilitating the acceleration, adoption, and application of RT3D to build and scale immersive experiences across industries. The agreement promises to deliver sector-specific solutions in areas such as automotive, consumer products & retail, energy & utilities, aerospace & defense, healthcare & life sciences, and industrial products/manufacturing. These solutions will encompass simulation for real-time insights and future scenario planning, human machine interfaces for enhanced interactive experiences, and immersive training through interactive 3D, AR, and VR to improve knowledge transfer and workplace safety.
