Ms. Swetha Sagar has been appointed as the Manager & Chief Business Officer effective from June 15, 2024, pending shareholder approval. This strategic move aims to continue driving the Butterfly business forward under her experienced leadership.

Ms. Swetha Sagar brings to the table over 19 years of expertise in brand management, strategic planning, and business development. She has held pivotal roles in major corporations including Versuni India (formerly Philips Domestic Appliances), Hindustan Coca Cola, and Hutchinson Essar, contributing significantly to their growth and market presence.

The appointment coincides with Mr. Rangarajan Sriram stepping down as Managing Director on June 14, 2024. Mr. Sriram has been a fundamental part of Crompton since 2012 and took the helm at Butterfly Gandhimathi Appliances following its acquisition by Crompton in March 2022. His leadership has been crucial in the integration and success of the business, and he leaves behind a strong legacy.

Promeet Ghosh, MD & CEO of Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals Ltd., which holds a 75% stake in Butterfly Gandhimathi Appliances, expressed deep gratitude towards Mr. Sriram for his dedication and leadership. He also voiced strong support for Ms. Sagar, noting her proven expertise and alignment with Butterfly’s growth objectives. “Ms. Swetha’s proven expertise aligns perfectly with our vision for Butterfly’s continued growth.
