Indian real estate heavyweight Brigade Group has officially announced the development of a new 16-story tower at the World Trade Center (WTC) located in Infopark, Kochi. This latest expansion is part of the company’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its presence in Kerala’s burgeoning IT sector.
In a ceremony attended by notable dignitaries including the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Kerala, Shri Pinarayi Vijayan, and other key government officials, Brigade Enterprises Limited inked a land lease agreement, setting the stage for the Rs 150-crore project. The new tower, featuring a substantial 2.6 lakh square feet of built-up space and a six-deck car park, is projected to generate approximately 2700 direct jobs. Completion of this significant project is anticipated within three years.
Shri Pinarayi Vijayan lauded the initiative, highlighting its potential impact: “The third tower of WTC at Infopark is not just a development for the IT park but a significant boost for the entire IT sector across the state.” Since 2016, Infopark has attracted 583 new companies and created 70,000 jobs, underscoring its pivotal role in the state’s economic growth.
M.R. Jaishankar, Executive Chairman of Brigade Enterprises Limited, expressed enthusiasm about the expansion: “The completion of two World Trade Center towers in Kochi has already had a transformative impact. With every office space fully occupied, the demand for high-grade facilities continues to rise. This new tower will cater to the growing needs of IT and ITES companies in Kerala.”
Susanth Kurunthil, CEO of Kochi Infopark, also noted the rising demand for non-SEZ buildings, which the new tower will help satisfy, making it a prime location for major companies seeking quality office space.
Brigade Group, with a legacy spanning 38 years, has developed around 300 buildings and 90 million square feet across various sectors. Apart from its real estate ventures, Brigade has also established a luxury business hotel, the Four Points by Sheraton at Kochi Infopark, and is developing Brigade Square in Trivandrum, a Grade A office building in Technopark Phase 1.
