Indian food delivery startup BOX8 app has started taking orders for the delivery of essential items like dairy products, fruits, vegetables, snacks, grocery and poultry products within 30 minutes across the cities of Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, and Gurgaon.
Food items that are scarce in the market due to lockdown in India will be available on BOX8 app to help people stay at home.
Fresh fruits and vegetables, dairy products, and breads are available on the app, while grocery products, snacks, and poultry products will be added soon.
The service can be used by existing customers and new users of Box8, which boasts of more than 120 kitchens and an own delivery fleet.
Nikhil Bansal – City Head at BOX8 said: “In these trying times, it is our responsibility to be of utmost help to the public with our resources and services. We had to do our best to bring safety and convenience for everyone. We are also constantly working on increasing our delivery fleet to be able to service the additional demand.”
BOX8 said that it is trying to solve the problem of long queues at grocery stores, vegetable markets, overbooked delivery slots, scarce stocks, and exposed contacted surfaces by delivering the items within 30 minutes as social distancing is the need of the hour.
The food delivery startup claims to ensure zero contact delivery.
Kuldeep Jain – Head of Supply Chain at BOX8 said: “We already have a supply chain to source and process fresh perishable essentials, a 120+ kitchen network, an owned delivery fleet to deliver on time and an online platform to process transactions. We have been working round the clock to make necessary adjustments, to be able to provide grocery service in these times.”
To place an online order, customers need to download the BOX8 app and visit the InstaFresh section for their home delivery of fresh essentials.
