Bombshell revelations: BJP zeroes in on Mahua Moitra amidst bribery allegations
In a sensational turn of events, the BJP has ratcheted up its accusations against Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Mahua Moitra. Allegations fly thick and fast about her taking bribes to raise questions in Parliament. With the stakes higher than ever, the BJP is unequivocally demanding Mahua Moitra’s resignation, or for TMC chief Mamata Banerjee to “sack” her.
Accusations that May Reshape Parliamentary Dynamics!
BJP national spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla didn’t mince words, suggesting the allegations represent a “complete compromise of the parliamentary system.” BJP’s Nishikant Dubey is rallying for “immediate action,” calling upon Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla. Throughout this tumultuous episode, the TMC remains noticeably silent.
But it’s not just political arrows flying. The CEO of the Hiranandani Group, Darshan Hiranandani, alleges that Moitra targeted the Adani Group to tarnish PM Narendra Modi’s image. Backing his claims with a signed affidavit, Hiranandani confesses to using Moitra’s Parliamentary login to direct questions at the Adani Group. This shocking revelation comes after the Indian Oil Corporation favored Adani’s Dhamra LNG facility in Odisha over Hiranandani’s proposed site.
Vinod Sonkar, the chairman of Lok Sabha Ethics Committee, acknowledged receipt of Hiranandani’s affidavit. In a significant social media move, Shehzad Poonawalla declared on X about the “larger compromise of parliamentary ethics, alleged corruption, and conspiracy” revolving around Moitra. Nishikant Dubey also took to X, demanding swift action and highlighting the TMC MP’s alleged attempts to influence the whistleblower.
Mahua Moitra’s Counter-Punch!
Mahua Moitra, however, is not taking these allegations lying down. She’s raised concerns over the credibility of Hiranandani’s affidavit, insinuating the PMO’s hand in its crafting. Moitra accuses the PMO of threatening Hiranandani, forcing him to sign the affidavit under duress.
Interestingly, the Congress, led by Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury in Lok Sabha, is focusing its crosshairs on the Modi government. Highlighting the urgency of addressing the issue, he remarked, “I have never seen the constitution of an Ethics Committee so swiftly.” He drew parallels with the action against Rahul Gandhi post his questions about a certain industrialist’s wealth.
Only time will determine the ramifications of this political whirlwind. One thing is certain; India’s political landscape is set for seismic changes.
