BJP stages ‘Maha Dharna’ at Indira Park to push for 2BHK housing promises

The BJP is set to amplify its demand for the distribution of 2BHK houses to the underprivileged with a high-profile ‘maha dharna’ at Indira Park on Saturday. This protest will see participation from notable party figures, including Union minister and BJP state president G. Kishan Reddy. The main objective behind this demonstration is to hold Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao and the BRS government accountable for their unmet promises surrounding the 2BHK housing initiative.

This anticipated dharna comes after two previous postponements – initially due to adverse weather conditions and subsequently due to the summons of party MPs to Delhi for the Lok Sabha’s no-confidence motion session.

Adding another layer to the party’s grievances, the BJP has publicly expressed its dissent towards the BRS government’s pledge of providing Rs 1 lakh financial aid to minorities. Commenting on this issue, Tarun Chugh, the party general secretary overseeing state party affairs, articulated on Friday: “Such promises based on religion or caste are in conflict with the Constitution. KCR’s strategy seems intent on sowing confusion, misleading the public, and leveraging vote bank politics.”
