In a fiery political showdown, the BJP has hurled explosive accusations at Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, likening him to “China’s propaganda machinery” and alleging he’s undermining the nation’s security forces.
Earlier this Sunday, Gandhi openly challenged Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s assertion over Ladakh, stating that locals vehemently disagree with the PM’s claims and believe that China has indeed intruded. “PM Modi’s claims on no intrusion are baseless,” Rahul Gandhi declared during his tour in Ladakh.
Unleashing a fierce counterattack, BJP MP Ravishankar Prasad blasted Rahul Gandhi, exclaiming, “Rahul, you’re blatantly wrong!” Accusing him of demoralizing India’s valiant security forces, Ravishankar Prasad questioned the Congress’s past record, hinting at possible discrepancies during the 1962 war.
The BJP’s onslaught continued as Ravishankar Prasad alleged Rahul Gandhi was echoing sentiments resembling Beijing’s propaganda. “Why does Gandhi malign India’s reputation on the global stage? His remarks seem to play right into China’s hands!” exclaimed the BJP stalwart.
Drawing attention to the heated Galwan Valley conflict of June 2020, Prasad accused Gandhi of consistently taking stances against India’s interests. Amidst the ongoing military face-off in Ladakh, the BJP MP cited previous defense minister AK Antony’s stance on China, suggesting Congress’s inconsistency on the matter.
BJP’s Jyotiraditya Scindia jumped into the fray, advising Congress to introspect before pointing fingers at the Centre. Highlighting historical references, Scindia reminded of the Congress’s earlier stance of ‘hindi chini bhai bhai’.
Meanwhile, Rahul Gandhi justified his Ladakh visit as an attempt to understand locals’ concerns, particularly about alleged Chinese incursions into grazing lands. He also expressed concerns over Ladakh’s Union Territory status post Jammu and Kashmir’s bifurcation.
Union minister Anurag Thakur retaliated, highlighting Ladakh’s developments under PM Modi’s leadership. He further insinuated secretive meetings between Rahul Gandhi and Chinese officials during the height of the Galwan conflict. As tensions soar, both parties remain locked in a fierce war of words, with the nation eagerly watching.
