Former Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad joined the fray, making it clear that the I.N.D.I.A. alliance is actively opposing Sanatana Dharma for vote-bank politics. Prasad claimed that leaders from Bihar minister and RJD leader Chandra Shekhar to Samajwadi Party’s Swami Prasad Maura have criticized sacred Hindu texts, while the alliance remains conspicuously silent. Such a silence, Prasad indicated, is tantamount to approval and vowed that the BJP will make this a people’s issue, stressing both “development and heritage.”
