BHEL to supply Super Rapid Gun Mounts for Indian Navy

Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has won a contract from the Indian Navy for the supply of a couple of Super Rapid Gun Mounts (SRGM) main guns standardized for all its warships.

The Indian public sector engineering and manufacturing company said that it has indigenized the Super Rapid Gun Mounts.

BHEL also said that it had set up exclusive, intricate manufacturing, and inspection facilities at its heavy electrical equipment plant in Haridwar for production, installation, and commissioning and lifecycle support of the guns.

BHEL stated: “Standardization of these Guns by the Indian Navy for all major Warships has resulted in optimization of cost and consolidation of expertise and self-reliance. BHEL is also working on an upgraded version of these Guns, with enhanced range, to cater to the future requirement of warships.”
