Bharti Airtel enhances network coverage in Sambhaji Nagar and Jalna, Maharashtra

In a significant move to densify its network coverage, Bharti Airtel, a leading telecommunications service provider in India, announced the deployment of additional sites across Sambhaji Nagar and Jalna district, Maharashtra. This network enhancement project aims to bolster connectivity for a population base of over 30 lakh across 1800 villages, marking a significant leap towards ensuring seamless access to high-speed internet in these rural areas.

Bharti Airtel’s initiative in Sambhaji Nagar and Jalna district focuses on improving the network across various tehsils, including Sillod, Soegaon, Vaijapur, Gangapur, Paithan, Phulambri, Kannad, Khultabad, Jalna, Ambad, Partur, Bhokardan, Jafrabad, Badnapur, Ghansavangi, and Mantha. This expansion is part of Airtel’s broader strategy to enhance its 4G, 5G, broadband, and fiber services, aiming to provide a seamless connectivity experience for work, study, and entertainment purposes in these rural settings.

The enhancement is a response to the growing demand for reliable mobile networks that can support high-speed connectivity, essential for the digital empowerment of rural populations. This year, Airtel has significantly increased its capital expenditure in the state to double down on its commitment to improving network connectivity.

Airtel’s rural network enhancement project extends beyond Maharashtra, covering nine districts including Ahmednagar, Sambhaji Nagar, Bid, Jalgaon, Nashik, Solapur, Nanded, Jalna, and Buldana. This initiative is part of a national effort to augment network connectivity across 60,000 villages in India by 2024, with Maharashtra being a key focus area.

The project aims to extend Airtel’s network coverage to 5,000 villages across the state, ensuring comprehensive coverage that spans urban, semi-urban, and rural areas, as well as highways, tourist destinations, and trade centers. Additionally, Airtel has boosted its fiber presence in Maharashtra by deploying additional capacities to meet the surging demand for high-speed data services.

This network enhancement by Bharti Airtel is a strategic step towards bridging the digital divide and fostering digital inclusion in rural Maharashtra. By expanding its network coverage and enhancing fiber capacities, Airtel is not only aiming to improve connectivity but also to support the growth of digital services in these regions.
