Berlin Packaging, a US-based hybrid packaging supplier has acquired UK packaging supplier H. Erben for an undisclosed price.
While Berlin Packaging supplies glass, plastic and metal containers and closures, H. Erben supplies closures, packaging, and packaging equipment.
Berlin Packaging acquisition of Erben is expected to extend significant operation and position for the hybrid packaging supplier in both Europe and Africa.
Apart from the UK, Erben also has dedicated operations in South Africa and also in California through its California Capsules business along with an e-commerce company that sells a wide variety of glass bottles and glass jars among others.
Erben has been supplying packaging and machinery to the wine, beer, and spirits sectors since more than sixty years. In 2017, the UK packaging supplier is said to have dispatched over one billion units of packaging.

Berlin Packaging says that it will retain all the employees and facilities of Erben. Likewise, the leadership of Erben, including its CEO Sasha Erben will keep their existing roles.
However, there will be a name change with H. Erben to operate as Bruni Erben, a Berlin Packaging Company.

Headquartered in Chicago, Berlin Packaging supplies rigid packaging products and services to all types of customers across various sectors. The hybrid packaging supplier has been operating in North America since 1898, and also maintains a European headquarters in the Italian city Milan.
About two years ago, Berlin Packaging purchased Bruni Glass, a supplier of premium and specialty glass containers and accessories.
