Bajaj Auto launches world’s first CNG motorcycle: Bajaj Freedom
Bajaj Auto, known as the world’s most valuable two-wheeler and three-wheeler company, has introduced a groundbreaking innovation to the automotive market—the Bajaj Freedom, the world’s first CNG motorcycle. This pioneering product promises to transform the two-wheeler industry by offering a cost-effective and environmentally friendly alternative to traditional petrol motorcycles.
The Bajaj Freedom CNG motorcycle is designed to significantly reduce fuel expenses, boasting approximately 50% cost savings compared to similar petrol motorcycles. It features a CNG tank that delivers over 200 km of range on just 2 kg of CNG fuel, complemented by a 2-liter petrol tank serving as a range extender, which provides an additional 130 km of travel, ensuring an uninterrupted journey.
Embracing the shift towards green technology, the Bajaj Freedom CNG motorcycle offers substantial environmental advantages. Its CNG combustion process emits about 26.7% less CO2 than its petrol counterparts, contributing significantly to the reduction of greenhouse gases. Moreover, the motorcycle releases 85% lower non-methane hydrocarbons and 43% less nitrogen oxide, aiding in the overall reduction of urban air pollution.
The design of the Bajaj Freedom CNG Motorcycle incorporates an integrated CNG tank and kit securely housed within a trellis frame, maintaining the compact nature essential for motorcycles. It features a horizontally inclined engine and a Link-Mono shock system that optimize space and provide a stable ride. With a comfortable saddle height and a narrow mid-section, the motorcycle ensures easy ground contact and maneuverability, enhancing rider confidence without compromising on safety or comfort.
