Ardderroo wind farm : Nordex to supply 22 wind turbines for Irish project
Nordex Group has secured an order to supply 22 wind turbines of the Delta4000 series for the 101MW Ardderroo wind farm in Ireland.
The name of the customer, as well as the financial terms of the contract, were not revealed by the German wind turbine manufacturer.
Nordex Group will supply and install 15 N149/4.X wind turbines along with seven N149/5.X turbines for the Ardderroo wind project. Additionally, the German wind turbine maker had signed a premium service contract for the turbines for a period of 20 years.
The Ardderroo wind farm is being constructed in County Galway, located on the west coast of Ireland.
According to Nordex Group, the Ardderroo wind project is the first in Ireland to use the 5MW class turbines from the company with the N149/5.X turbines.
The N149 turbines will have a rotor diameter of 149m. Nordex Group claims them to have the largest rotor diameter of all wind turbines in Ireland to date.
Installation and commissioning of the turbines for the Ardderroo wind farm is anticipated to take place in Q3 2022.
The Ardderroo wind project is underpinned by a power purchase agreement (PPA) signed with Amazon in September 2020 for 100% of its power.
