Ameresco clinches spot in DOE’s $5bn Gen4 energy savings contract

In a significant move towards achieving sustainable federal infrastructure, Ameresco, Inc. (NYSE: AMRC), a forerunner in cleantech integration and renewable energy solutions, has proudly announced its inclusion in the Department of Energy’s (DOE) prestigious Generation 4 (Gen4) energy savings performance contract (ESPC). This strategic government initiative encourages Federal agencies to harness third-party capital for ambitious energy-reduction, decarbonization, and facility resilience projects.

The DOE’s Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract has roped in a total of 20 prime contractors, of which Ameresco is a key player. The objective? To spur the integration of external funding and facilitate the swift realization of Executive Order 14057’s goals, which center around stimulating clean energy industries and jobs through enhanced federal sustainability.

The Gen4 contract has a hefty budget ceiling of $5 billion, spread over a decade. Notably, Ameresco has a robust track record with the contract’s previous iterations, successfully executing projects worth an aggregate of over $2 billion.

Speaking on the occasion, Nicole Bulgarino, the Executive Vice President and General Manager of Ameresco Federal Solutions, expressed the company’s commitment to furthering their long-standing collaborations with the DOE. She emphasized Ameresco’s active role in offering ground-breaking power generation, energy storage, and resilience solutions across various military and civilian agencies. Bulgarino confidently stated, “With the Gen4 task orders, we’re geared up to deliver equally impactful results for Federal sites in the foreseeable future.”
