Global supply chain solutions leader, AIT Worldwide Logistics, has marked a significant expansion in Asia with the inauguration of two new offices—one in Penang, Malaysia, and the other in Singapore. This strategic move has bolstered AIT’s presence across six Asian countries, indicating a robust response to the evolving needs for diversified sourcing in the region.

Expanding Footprint in Response to Market Demands

AIT’s Chief Business Officer, Greg Weigel, emphasized that these new facilities epitomize the company’s dynamic approach to adapting to changing customer needs in Southeast Asia. “Establishing dedicated teams in Malaysia and Singapore further supports AIT’s robust business in Southeast Asia, while strengthening relationships with local partners,” Weigel remarked. He highlighted the company’s ongoing commitment to offering diversified sourcing options to mitigate risk in supply chains.

Leadership and Services at New Locations

Under the leadership of Wilson Lee, AIT’s Senior Vice President, Asia, and Regional Director of Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand, Siau Hwee Tan, the AIT-Penang and AIT-Singapore offices are set to provide comprehensive freight forwarding services. These services will primarily focus on air and ocean imports and exports. “Manufacturing is growing quickly in Southeast Asia, especially in Malaysia, and our subject matter experts in both newly opened locations are already serving customers in the automotive, industrial, and technology sectors,” Lee stated. AIT’s extensive global networks support various industries, including consumer retail, food logistics, and life sciences, ensuring seamless customer onboarding.

Positioned near key airports and seaports, the new offices in Malaysia and Singapore are part of AIT’s larger Asian network, which includes over a dozen other offices. Globally, AIT operates more than 110 offices and is looking forward to further expansion in the region in 2024.
