Within just one year of launching Airtel 5G Plus, Bharti Airtel (Airtel), a leading telecommunications service provider in India, has announced a major expansion. The company has successfully extended its 5G network to cover all 31 districts of Karnataka, empowering over 5.1 million unique 5G customers in the state.
Statewide Expansion of Airtel 5G
Airtel’s 5G service is now available across every district and union territory in the country, with a complete rollout in Karnataka. The network covers diverse regions, from the Western Ghats in Kodagu and the historic city of Mysuru to the tech hub of Bengaluru and the beaches of Mangalore. Notably, Airtel has also included significant sites like the UNESCO World Heritage site of Hampi and Mullayanagiri in Chikmagalur in its 5G network.

Over the past year, Airtel has led 5G innovation, demonstrating its transformative power through various use cases. These include establishing India’s first private 5G network at the BOSCH facility in Bengaluru and partnering with Mahindra & Mahindra for a 5G-enabled auto manufacturing facility. Additionally, Airtel launched Airtel Xstream Air Fiber, India’s first wireless home Wi-Fi service powered by Airtel 5G Plus, in Delhi & Mumbai.
