AICC chairman Pawan Khera criticizes BRS government ahead of assembly elections
In the wake of criticism from BRS MLC K. Kavitha, Pawan Khera, the chairman of the AICC media and publicity department, urged her to focus on the unfulfilled promises of the BRS government and her own seat in the impending Assembly elections. Khera’s comments were made on the sidelines of the Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting taking place in Hyderabad.
BJP’s Confused Agenda and Media Relations
Khera didn’t mince words in criticizing the BJP, stating, “Post Bharat Jodo Yatra, the BJP is in confusion as discussion on the issues of people is not in their syllabus. This is out of their curriculum. The agenda will be determined by the people, not from Nagpur now. Modi and Shah have been forced to respond on issues.” He also emphasized the democratic election of Mallikarjun Kharge as the new president, stating that no other party has made such a democratic choice for its leadership.
AICC’s Stance on Media and Party Agenda
On the subject of some media anchors being unofficially banned by the party, Khera clarified, “The anchors were not banned by us. We are just not becoming a party to sharing the hate agenda that they are spreading.” He also pointed out that the parties in the INDIA alliance are in agreement with this decision. Khera went on to accuse the BJP of exploiting the sacrifices of soldiers and giving China a clean chit on its land encroachment issues. “The veterans of the army are standing with us,” he added.
The Diversion Tactics of BJP
Khera also questioned the timing of the ‘one nation one poll’ debate, which surfaced amid new revelations about Adani. He advised the media to scrutinize any new agendas put forth by the BJP, particularly when there are ongoing controversies like Chinese incursions or any involvement of Jay Shah. “When the BJP brings up a new agenda, the media should see if there is something happening with regard to Chinese incursions or Jay Shah is involved in something,” he stated.
In summary, Pawan Khera advised BRS MLC K. Kavitha to focus on the forthcoming Assembly elections and scrutinize the unfulfilled promises of the BRS government, while also openly criticizing the BJP for their political maneuvers.
