Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL) announced that its subsidiary, Adani Wind Energy Kutchh Five Limited (AWEK5L, formerly known as Adani Green Energy Five Limited), has successfully commissioned a 130MW wind farm in Kutchh, Gujarat.
The wind farm in Gujarat has entered into a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) for the entire 130MW capacity, at a rate of INR 2.83/kWh.
With the addition of this newly commissioned wind farm, Adani Green Energy’s operational wind generation capacity has reached 1.1GW, contributing to the company’s overall operational renewable generation capacity of 8.2GW. This achievement puts Adani Green Energy well on track to realize its ambitious vision of reaching a total renewable portfolio capacity of 45GW by 2030.
To ensure efficient management and optimal performance of the newly commissioned plant, Adani Green Energy will utilize the Adani Group’s intelligent ‘Energy Network Operation Centre’ (ENOC) platform. This advanced technology has consistently played a crucial role in maintaining superior operational performance across Adani Green Energy’s diverse renewable portfolio, which spans multiple locations in India.
Adani Green Energy’s commitment to sustainability and economic development is evident in its continuous integration of these objectives in its projects. By creating job opportunities and facilitating decarbonization, Adani Green Energy aligns with India’s commitment to the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Paris, bringing the country one step closer to achieving climate leadership.
