Adani Energy Solutions Limited (AESL), a key player in India’s energy sector and part of the diversified Adani portfolio, announced its acquisition of Halvad Transmission Ltd. from PFC Consulting Limited (PFCCL). The acquisition is a strategic move to support the evacuation of 7 GW of Renewable Energy (RE) from the Khavda RE park, under Phase III Part A package.

Project Overview and Impact

The Halvad Transmission Ltd., a special purpose vehicle (SPV) established by PFCCL, plays a critical role in connecting the Khavda RE park to the National Grid. This transmission line is crucial for evacuating 7GW of renewable energy from Khavda to Halvad in Gujarat. Adani Energy Solutions secured this project through the Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) process and will undertake the project on a Build, Own, Operate, and Maintain (BOOM) basis, planning to commission it within the next 24 months.

Investment and Technical Specifications

Adani Energy Solutions is set to invest approximately Rs 3,000 crore to build, own, operate, and maintain the 301 km (656 circuit km) transmission project for 35 years. The project includes setting up a 765 kV Halvad switching station with 2×330 MVAr bus reactors and a Line-In Line-Out of Lakadia – Ahmedabad 765 kV double-circuit line at Halvad.

Anil Sardana, MD of Adani Energy Solutions Ltd., highlighted AESL’s commitment to efficient renewable energy evacuation. “The 7GW Khavda Project is a significant step in making additional renewable energy available to consumers. We are dedicated to using the latest technology to commission this project with minimal environmental impact,” he stated.
