Accenture to expand digital capabilities with OPENSTREAM HOLDINGS acquisition

Accenture (NYSE: ACN) has entered into an agreement to acquire OPENSTREAM HOLDINGS, along with its subsidiaries Open Stream and Neutral, marking a significant expansion in its ability to help clients harness digital technologies and become data-driven. The terms of the transaction have not been disclosed, underscoring the strategic nature of this acquisition.

Strengthening Cloud and Digital Expertise

This acquisition will bring approximately 1,000 cloud and digital experts into Accenture’s fold, significantly bolstering its cloud, digital engineering, and manufacturing teams. These new capabilities are set to enhance Accenture’s service offerings in system and application modernization, helping clients adopt cutting-edge technologies such as cloud computing, data analytics, artificial intelligence (AI), and the Internet of Things (IoT).

Open Stream and Neutral will contribute robust automation solutions across the product value chain—from procurement and manufacturing processes to logistics and after-sales service. Open Stream, with its 600-strong team, has been a major player in consulting and systems integration for the logistics and retail industries since joining OPENSTREAM HOLDINGS in 2020. Neutral, specializing in system integration with 400 professionals, has made significant strides in the automotive and manufacturing sectors since its incorporation into OPENSTREAM HOLDINGS in 2021.

A Strategic Vision for Digital Reinvention

“Atsushi Egawa, who leads Accenture’s business in Japan, emphasized, “With OPENSTREAM HOLDINGS, we can better help our clients reinvent their businesses and become truly data-driven.” This acquisition aligns with Accenture’s strategic vision to deepen its industry expertise, particularly in manufacturing and logistics, enhancing its Industry X service line.
