Accenture debuts AI Refinery Engineering Hub to drive innovation in Singapore

Accenture has announced the launch of its AI Refinery Engineering Hub in Singapore, a forward-thinking initiative designed to boost AI innovation, intellectual property development, and talent growth across the Asia-Pacific region. Developed in partnership with the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB), the hub is a cornerstone of Accenture’s broader $3 billion global investment aimed at revolutionising artificial intelligence applications.

As an extension of the Accenture Center for Advanced AI, the AI Refinery Engineering Hub will focus on developing foundational AI models and promoting responsible AI practices. It will also play a crucial role in equipping businesses and professionals with the expertise needed to navigate the rapidly advancing AI landscape. By providing tailored programs and resources, the hub aims to position Singapore as a leader in AI-driven solutions.

The hub’s key objective is to serve as a comprehensive platform for generative AI innovation, offering end-to-end services that span research, development, and deployment of custom AI models. These solutions are tailored to meet specific business needs, from streamlining operations to developing new products and services. Industries such as healthcare, finance, public services, energy, and sustainability are expected to benefit significantly from the hub’s expertise.

In addition to fostering collaboration, the hub will bring together Accenture’s global network of AI specialists with regional experts to conduct applied research. This research will focus on advanced technologies, including large language models (LLMs), AI infrastructure, and computational science, with a strong emphasis on ethical and responsible AI implementation.

Ramine Tinati, managing director and APAC lead for the Accenture Center for Advanced AI, highlighted the immense potential of generative AI in reshaping industries. He noted that foundational models serve as the building blocks for innovation, enabling organisations to scale AI responsibly and achieve groundbreaking outcomes.

Junie Fo, Vice President of Commercial & Professional Services at the Singapore Economic Development Board, underscored the hub’s value as a platform for local talent to engage in impactful applied research. She expressed optimism about the partnerships between Accenture and the local ecosystem in addressing global challenges through bespoke AI solutions.
