Accenture (NYSE: ACN) has finalized its acquisition of and its subsidiaries, Open Stream and Neutral, marking a significant expansion in its capabilities. This move is poised to dramatically enhance ‘s ability to help clients reinvent their businesses using advanced digital technologies, becoming truly data-driven organizations. Although the terms of the acquisition were not disclosed, the integration of these entities is expected to create a powerful synergy within Accenture’s existing framework.

The acquisition, announced on May 17, 2024, enriches Accenture’s resources with approximately 1,000 new specialists in cloud technologies and digital engineering. These experts are now part of Accenture’s dynamic teams, dedicated to accelerating client initiatives in system and application modernization and the adoption of cutting-edge technologies like cloud computing, (AI), and the Internet of Things (IoT).

The addition of Open Stream and Neutral significantly augments Accenture’s service offerings, particularly in automation solutions across the entire product value chain—from procurement and manufacturing processes to logistics and after-sales services. Open Stream, known for its robust consulting and system integration services in logistics and retail, brings advanced technologies and solutions used by over 2,800 companies. Meanwhile, Neutral specializes in system integration for the automotive and manufacturing industries, offering solutions that include 3D design and AI-powered predictive maintenance tools.

This acquisition is part of Accenture’s ongoing strategy to invest heavily in its technology and digital engineering capabilities across Japan. This strategy has included several key acquisitions and partnerships over the past years, such as the establishment of a joint venture with MUJIN to integrate AI and robotics in manufacturing and logistics, and the acquisition of Trancom ITS and DI Square to enhance digital engineering and product lifecycle management.
