Piper Sandler acquires technology investment banking firm DBO Partners

Investment bank Piper Sandler Companies has wrapped up the acquisition of San Francisco-based technology investment banking firm DBO Partners for undisclosed sum.

Established in 2012, DBO Partners has carried out several complex merger and acquisitions (M&A) and capital raising transactions for its clients in software, security, engineering, semiconductors & infrastructure and emerging technology, among others.

Its general partner advisory services unit is expected to allow Piper Sandler to gain the new capability to serve its financial sponsor clients.

Industry veterans Gordon Dean, Mark Bradley, and Nick Osborne are the founders of DBO Partners.

Following the completion of the deal, Nick Osborne has been named as co-head of technology investment banking of the company.

Sullivan & Cromwell served as an advisor to Piper Sandler in connection with the transaction, while Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz acted as legal advisor and KBW served as financial advisor to DBO Partners.
