Vesuvius breaks ground on new refractory manufacturing facility in Vizag

Vesuvius India, a subsidiary of British ceramic company Vesuvius, has laid the foundation stone of a new refractory manufacturing facility at Perwada, Visakhapatnam.

The refractory solutions provider already has manufacturing facilities in Kolkata, Mehsana, and Visakhapatnam (Vizag).

The foundation stone ceremony was attended by Vesuvius chairman John McDonough, Chief Executive Patrick Andre and Vesuvius India chairman Biswadip Gupta.

Vesuvius India, said that through its planned fully-owned subsidiary, will invest around INR 57 crores in the first phase of the new refractory manufacturing plant in Vishakapatnam. This is in addition to approximately INR 100 crores of investments being used for building capabilities and capacities in various plants in Kolkata and Visakhapatnam.

Once commissioned, the Perwada facility will manufacture the latest generation Mould flux product. It is expected to further enhance Vesuvius India’s product and service portfolio.
