Alfa Laval to acquire tank cleaning equipment provider Scanjet

Alfa Laval has agreed to acquire Scanjet, a supplier of tank cleaning equipment and solutions for offshore, marine, and industrial applications.

The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

According to the Swedish company, the acquisition will expand its tanker offering to create a product portfolio for cargo tanks that is more comprehensive.

Alfa Laval said that the intelligent tank management solutions of Scanjet will be a useful complement to its sustainable marine offering as they lower the usage of water and consumption of energy linked to tank cleaning.

By adding Scanjet to its portfolio, Alfa Laval expects to support customer efficiency at all the stages of cargo handling.

Scanjet has a workforce of around 150 people and has factories across Sweden, Indonesia, and Poland and a turnover of nearly SEK 300 million.

Scanjet’s well-known and market-leading solutions for cargo tanks complement our existing Framo cargo pumping solutions for cargo handling. This gives us the ability to optimize tank management for our customers with an ambition to reduce their water and fuel consumption and ultimately their CO2 footprint.”

The deal is expected to close during the third quarter of this year.
