Ramkrishna Forgings begins serial production from Jamshedpur fabrication plant

Ramkrishna Forgings Limited, an Indian manufacturer of forged products, said that it has started the serial production of heavy fabrications for the excavator parts at its Jamshedpur fabrication plant in Jharkhand.

Known as plant VII, the fabrication facility has been approved by a major original equipment manufacturer (OEM) based in Europe, and active in the mining and earth moving industry.

According to Lalit Khetan — Executive Director and CFO of Ramkrishna Forgings Limited, the approval is a step in the right direction in the company’s efforts to consolidate its footprint in non-auto sectors. Besides, the approval will give considerable impetus to capacity utilization of the new fabrication plant and will add to revenues in the future, said the CFO of Ramkrishna Forgings.

Lalit Khetan added: “The facility approval by a leading European OEM and subsequent commencement of serial production acts as a strong testimony for our state-of-the-art facility and reinforces our rational behind the capex decision.

“This order follows a recently won order from an Indian arm of Japanese construction equipment company. Increasing acceptance of our products by global majors across auto and non-auto sectors is an assertion of our product quality and technical expertise.”

In August 2021, Ramkrishna Forgings had won an order worth €20 million from an undisclosed European Tier 1 customer in the auto industry.
