Mahindra & Mahindra reports selling 42,983 vehicles in July 2021

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. reported that its overall auto sales of passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles, and exports were 42,983 vehicles for the month of July 2021.

The Indian automotive company sold 20,797 vehicles in the utility vehicles (UVs) segment during the reported month, a 91% increase compared to 10,898 UVs sold in July 2020.

In the passenger vehicles segment, which includes UVs, cars, and vans, Mahindra & Mahindra sold 21,046 vehicles, again a 91% growth compared to 11,025 vehicles sold in July 2020.

Mahindra & Mahindra’s exports for the month of July 2021 stood at 2,123 vehicles.

Veejay Nakra — CEO of Mahindra & Mahindra Automotive Division said: “More than 90% of our dealerships and workshops are now operational across the country. We have seen significant increase in activity levels, enquiries and as a result, sales across our product portfolio.”

Last month, the Indian automotive company launched Bolero Neo SUV in India. The company also introduced the Supro Profittruck range of small commercial vehicles.

Meanwhile, Mahindra & Mahindra’s farm equipment sector sold 25,769 tractors in July 2021, compared to 25,402 tractors during July 2020. Out of these, 1,460 tractors were exported outside India during July 2021.

Hemant Sikka — President – Farm Equipment Sector, Mahindra & Mahindra said: “Demand remained buoyant in July as crop sowing operations gained traction, with monsoon picking up pace across all the regions. The easing of Covid curbs and robust farm incomes on record Rabi crop procurement has bode well for the rural economy.

“We continue to stay bullish on tractor demand in the coming months owing to revival of monsoon, hike in MSP of key Kharif crops and upcoming festival season.”
