Larsen & Toubro wins another contract for Kudankulam nuclear power plant

Larsen & Toubro (L&T) said that its construction business has won a “significant” order from Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL) pertaining to the 6GW Kudankulam nuclear power plant in Tamil Nadu.

Under the contract, L&T’s heavy civil infrastructure business in India will construct the main plant civil works of units 5 and 6, which will each have a capacity of 1GW.

L&T will be responsible for the construction of the reactor building, turbine building, reactor auxiliary building, diesel generator building, and other safety related structures during the 64-month long contract.

Currently, L&T is carrying out similar works of units 3 and 4 of the Kudankulam nuclear power plant.
