FPT Software joins forces with Subaru to drive digital transformation in automotive industry

Global technology leader FPT Software, a subsidiary of FPT Corporation, has entered into a significant partnership with Subaru Corporation (Subaru), the renowned Japanese automotive manufacturer, by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at driving innovation and transformation in the automotive manufacturing sector. This alliance is set to push the boundaries of digital transformation, enhancing both companies’ capabilities in the rapidly evolving automotive industry.

According to the MoU, FPT Software will play a pivotal role in advancing Subaru’s digital transformation initiatives, focusing on overhauling in-house information systems and in-car technologies. The collaboration will include modernizing factory software, upgrading legacy systems, automating system operations, and reinforcing both infrastructure and security. FPT Software’s expertise in cutting-edge technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Robotic Process Automation (RPA) will be instrumental in these enhancements, ensuring Subaru stays ahead in the competitive automotive market.

A key component of this partnership is the creation of a robust talent ecosystem, wherein FPT Software will leverage Vietnam’s vast human resource potential and educational institutions to build a highly skilled workforce tailored to Subaru’s specific needs. This initiative will not only support Subaru’s operational goals but also contribute to the broader objective of fostering innovation within the automotive industry in both Vietnam and Japan. The MoU also outlines plans for personnel exchanges and collaborative events, which will serve to deepen the partnership and explore new avenues for joint innovation. Notably, this collaboration aligns with Subaru’s ambitious target to have battery electric vehicles (EVs) account for half of its total sales by 2030, with potential collaborations to encourage EV adoption in both Vietnam and Japan.

Do Van Khac, Senior Executive Vice President of FPT Software and CEO of FPT Japan, expressed confidence in the partnership, stating, “With our high-quality resources and strong technological expertise, FPT Software is committed to helping Subaru achieve a leading position in manufacturing innovation and value creation. We plan to allocate 200 dedicated personnel to support Subaru by 2025 and are excited about the prospects of a more comprehensive partnership.”

The partnership further cements FPT Software’s status as a trusted digital transformation partner in the automotive industry. With over a decade of experience in the automotive sector, FPT Software has built a global team of 4,000 automotive software engineers and experts, demonstrating a strong commitment to innovation. In Japan, FPT Software holds a dominant position as the largest foreign-invested tech firm in terms of human resources, employing 3,500 individuals across 17 local offices and innovation hubs, with an additional 15,000 employees globally.
