Rick Henry, VP of Business Operations at Intelsat’s Government Solutions division, confirmed Intelsat’s readiness to fulfill the Army’s needs for a managed subscription service. The awarded SaaMS pilot program aims to showcase the effectiveness of a commercially-managed SATCOM model, equipped to meet the rapid deployment and surge requirements essential for varied missions.
Enhanced Flexibility and Worldwide Coverage in Army Communications
Intelsat’s provision will encompass end-to-end managed services, including connections to commercial teleports and internet services. The scope incorporates Intelsat Flex for GEO connections and includes services from a prominent commercial LEO satellite provider. This strategic implementation ensures the Army’s seamless global communications, reinforced by 24/7 support, and the ability to swiftly adapt to diverse mission demands as underscored by Henry.
