818 Tequila officially launches in India, expanding its global reach
818 Tequila, the premium spirits brand founded by entrepreneur Kendall Jenner, has officially entered the Indian market, exclusively distributed by Berry Beverages and imported by Zoup Beverages. Known for its smooth taste and sustainable practices, 818 Tequila is now available in Delhi NCR, with plans to expand across India, including Mumbai, Goa, Karnataka, and Telangana in the coming months.
Traditional Craftsmanship Meets Modern Sustainability
Produced in Amatitán, Mexico, 818 Tequila is crafted using traditional methods combined with modern sustainability practices. The agaves are slow-cooked for over 30 hours, crushed using traditional Tahona wheels, and undergo a 48-hour natural fermentation process. The tequila is then distilled twice in alembic copper pot stills and aged in French and American oak barrels, which contributes to its distinctive flavor profile.
The brand not only focuses on quality but also on environmental sustainability. Its distillery operates on biomass and solar energy, and the bottles are made from recycled glass. Additionally, 818 Tequila’s packaging is certified by the Forest Stewardship Council, ensuring it comes from sustainably managed forests.
Community Engagement and Innovation
818 Tequila has also partnered with s.a.c.r.e.d. (Saving Agave for Culture, Recreation, Education, and Development) to implement the 818 Community Program in Mexico. This initiative uses byproducts from tequila production to create building materials like bricks, which are then donated to community projects across Mexico, showcasing the brand’s commitment to giving back to the community and promoting sustainable practices.
