CyberLink collaborates with Generali Vietnam to integrate facial recognition in insurance services

CyberLink (5203.TW), a leading provider of AI facial recognition technology, has announced a strategic collaboration with Generali Vietnam Life Insurance Company to incorporate facial recognition into Generali’s customer service application, GenVita. This integration utilizes CyberLink’s FaceMe facial recognition engine, renowned for its high accuracy and anti-spoofing capabilities, to facilitate electronic Know Your Customer (eKYC) identification and authentication processes. This advancement aims to streamline the verification of new and existing customers engaging in online insurance services, enhancing security and user experience as part of Generali’s “Transparent Insurance” initiative.

Generali Vietnam is at the forefront of implementing mandatory eKYC in the life insurance industry, striving to improve security, transparency, and overall customer experience. eKYC is crucial for various processes including new policy applications, where customers need to confirm their identity post-registration, and for existing policyholders wishing to access insurance information or conduct online transactions such as policy confirmations, adjustments, and claims.

The adoption of CyberLink’s FaceMe technology by Generali Vietnam reflects a significant step towards leveraging biometric authentication to secure online financial transactions and remote identity verification. FaceMe is distinguished by its exceptional accuracy, with a rate of up to 99.83%, and robust anti-spoofing measures validated by its top ranking in NIST’s PAD Face Analysis Technology Evaluation and iBeta level 2 certification according to ISO 30107-3.

FaceMe’s versatility extends to its deployment on edge devices and in-bank servers, offering cross-platform support that empowers financial and insurance institutions to rapidly develop custom applications incorporating facial recognition.

Mei Guu, President of CyberLink Business Unit 2, expressed pride in their contribution to Generali Vietnam’s fintech advancements. “When developing financial technology, eKYC is a pivotal challenge that banks and insurance providers face, and AI facial recognition is the ideal solution for remote identity verification and authentication,” Guu stated. “We are honored that FaceMe facial recognition technology can be adopted by Generali Vietnam. FaceMe not only ensures the security of the eKYC process but will also help more organizations create innovative financial application services.”

The collaboration between CyberLink and Generali Vietnam signifies a transformative approach to enhancing digital security and customer convenience in the insurance sector. By integrating advanced AI facial recognition technology, Generali Vietnam sets a new standard in the industry for secure and efficient customer verification. This move is likely to prompt further adoption of such technologies across the financial services industry, underscoring the importance of innovative solutions in the pursuit of “Transparent Insurance” and improved customer service.
