Wipro launches 5G Def-i platform at MWC Barcelona 2023

Wipro has announced the launch of its 5G Def-i platform with an intent to expedite the connected enterprise by integrating networks, applications, and cloud services to help companies smoothly and rapidly link assets and systems on 5G networks.

The platform is integrated, and lets businesses seamlessly transform their networks, infrastructure, and services. It will be unveiled by the Indian IT company at MWC Barcelona 2023 connectivity event.

According to Wipro, many companies have been unable to realize the maximum value from connectivity investments because of the difficulty of bringing 5G connectivity close to the edge of the enterprise.

Wipro’s 5G Defi platform is said to include tools for network connectivity and enablers, which are built on a cloud-native platform to simplify the process and connect key systems.

The platform includes proprietary Wipro frameworks like Data Discovery Platform, Cloud Native NFs runtime platform, and Multi-Domain Orchestrator as well as assets coming from an ecosystem of communication services providers and suppliers of network equipment and software.

The all-in-one 5G Def-i solution helps to accelerate the introduction of services that are designed for the intelligent, connected enterprise, said Wipro.

Built on open standards, Wipro’s 5G Def-I platform offers cloud-native environments as well as network APIs and third-party integrations required by companies to integrate existing infrastructure, develop new applications and services and stay up to date with developments in technology.

The suite integrates the capacity of the cloud and the performance power of 5G. It also includes an intelligence layer to create useful business insights that provide insight into endpoint devices as well as data insights, speeds up service deployment for network operators, and facilitate rapid deployment of new apps in factory, enterprise, or smart-city settings.

The 5G Def-i platform from Wipro is said to accelerate connectivity integrations as well as the path to generate revenue from 5G with horizontal services designed for specific industries.

The platform’s security is claimed to be robust and management of the lifecycle of an application as well as data analytics, digital assurance, and data management includes support for the development of services and their delivery in a variety of scenarios. These include starting with a single enterprise instance to a multi-tenant environment within a communications service provider’s environment, said Wipro.
