Westland Insurance Group acquires Ontario-based Gillons Insurance Brokers

Westland Insurance Group, a Canadian property and casualty insurance broker, has acquired Gillons Insurance Brokers for an undisclosed price.

The transaction marks the first acquisition for Westland Insurance Group in Ontario. It is also said to support the expansion strategy of the company to become a national insurance brokerage.

Gillons Insurance Brokers, which was established in 1924, is based in Fort Frances, Ontario. The company has 11 locations across northwestern Ontario.

The professional insurance advisors of Gillons Insurance Brokers are said to have expertise in residential, auto, life, farm, travel, recreation, and commercial insurance services.

Westland Insurance Group, through the acquisition of Gillons Insurance Brokers, will be adding 11 branches and more than 90 employees in Ontario. Overall, the Canadian property and casualty insurance broker will have more than 140 offices across British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Alberta, and Ontario.
