WABAG bags $100m order for Hassyan seawater reverse osmosis project
VA TECH WABAG has bagged an order worth around $100 million for carrying out engineering and procurement work pertaining to 120 million gallons per day (MiGD) Hassyan seawater reverse osmosis project (SWRO project) in the UAE.
The contract was given to the Indian pure-play water company by Green EPC, a Utico FZC subsidiary, which is the main EPC contractor for the sea water reverse osmosis project.
Utico FZC was selected by Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) as the preferred bidder to construct the Hassyan SWRO plant and operate it for a period of 35 years under the independent water producer (IWP) model with the latter to off-take 100% of water from the facility.
The desalination plant is slated to be commissioned in a phased manner by March 2024.
