Vardhman Special Steels begins mass production for Aichi Steel
Vardhman Special Steels Limited (VSSL) said that it has commenced mass production of steel for forging companies of Japan-based Aichi Steel Corporation for certain grades for which it has secured approvals.
The Indian special and alloy steels manufacturer said that the sales of the products for FY 2023-24 will be around 10,000 MT. The sales are expected to increase further upon receiving more approvals in coming two-three years.
Aichi Steel is a group company of Toyota Motor and is an alloy steel manufacturer.
Sachit Jain — Vardhman Special Steels Vice Chairman and Managing Director said: “This is a historic moment for VSSL as we have started mass production of steel for Toyota. This will establish VSSL and India as a supplier of high-quality automotive steel.
“This is one of the biggest landmark event in the history of VSSL and a matter of great pride for our country.”
