Triveni Engineering & Industries strikes 10-yr deal with GEAE Technology

Triveni Engineering & Industries said that it has signed a 10-year business agreement with GEAE Technology USA for the local manufacturing of the LM2500 gas turbine base and enclosure.

As per the agreement, GEAE Technology USA has licensed the Indian firm to locally manufacture the base frame, acoustic enclosure, and lubricating oil skid of LM2500 gas turbine as well as supply other source-controlled accessories that go into the turbine enclosure assembly.

According to Triveni Engineering & Industries, the LM2500 is the propulsion gas turbine that is chosen by the Indian Navy for several of its surface combatant vessels.

With power ranging from 25MW to 35MW, LM2500 is a naval propulsion gas turbine that has been in service with more than 40 navies around the world, said the engineered product and system solutions provider.

This agreement is another major step towards indigenization of LM 2500 gas turbine and accessories in line with the ‘Make in India’ policy of the Government of India.

“We believe this arrangement is a major step in bringing the high-end technology indigenously to the Indian Defence as part of a long-term plan, which we at Triveni are well poised to contribute further through a strong portfolio of current and upcoming products.”
