Tech Mahindra has entered into a partnership with Red Hat to enable communications service providers (CSPs) in infrastructure modernization and cloud migration.

The partnership will offer tailored solutions to assist telcos to migrate essential 5G networks and multi-access edge computing (MEC) tasks to the hybrid cloud by using Red Hat OpenShift Service on Amazon Web Services (AWS) and netOps.ai, which is Tech Mahindra’s hyper-automation platform.

The offering is said to come with the full range of services and products by using a variety of platforms to implement a multi-vendor, distributed 5G Core, edge, and multi-access edge computing solution in a hybrid and multi-cloud environment. This will further increase the speed of adoption of 5G use cases for communications service providers, said Tech Mahindra.

By utilizing Red Hat OpenShift Service on AWS on-premises, and in conjunction with Tech Mahindra netOps.ai, the solution will allow telcos to design and implement 5G-related scenarios using a clearer approach to migration of network workloads from on-premises to multi-cloud and hybrid scenarios without modifying their existing software stack.

The jointly developed solution will tackle multi-domain network transformation that spans 5G Core, RAN, transport, and enterprise edge use cases.

Honoré LaBourdette — Red Hat Vice President of Telco, Media, Entertainment & Edge Ecosystem said: “In order to maximize flexibility and scale in hybrid and multi-cloud environments, telcos need a reliable infrastructure that can deliver a consistent experience across cloud environments while meeting network requirements from the core to the edge.
