Tech Mahindra, IQM Quantum Computers forge quantum computing partnership

Indian IT services firm Tech Mahindra has inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with IQM Quantum Computers, a Finland-based quantum computing hardware company, to collaborate on research in quantum computing.

The parties will study synergies in the agreeable beneficial areas of quantum computing, communication technologies, and cryptography.

As part of the collaboration, Tech Mahindra and IQM Quantum Computers plan to co-build new quantum computing offerings for multiple industries such as healthcare, banking, cyber security, and others.

Besides, the parties will further jointly build and commercialize quantum technology use cases in Finland and India.

Tech Mahindra claimed that it has been engaged in fast-tracking the adoption and commercialization of quantum technology around the world. In this connection, the Indian IT services provider is also establishing its Quantum Centre of Excellence – QNxt in Helsinki.

The partnership with IQM Quantum Computers is expected to further bolster the capabilities in research and design and offerings in quantum computing of both organizations. It will combine the industry knowledge of Tech Mahindra in quantum computing with the Finnish company’s know-how in superconducting quantum hardware, its application-specific, Co-Design approach, and capabilities in quantum algorithm development.
