TCS selected by Indian govt to drive Passport Seva Program phase 2

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) said that the Indian Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has selected the company for driving the second phase of the Passport Seva Program.

The mission-critical e-governance program, which was launched in 2008, involved Tata Consultancy Services transforming the way passport-related services are delivered through the company-run Passport Seva Kendras (PSK). The IT services provider is also said to have helped the Indian government digitize the processes.

During the first phase of the Passport Seva Program, accessibility to passport services was improved further by extending them via designated post offices and through Indian missions and posts around the world.

In the second phase of Passport Seva Program, Tata Consultancy Services will be responsible for refreshing existing facilities and systems. It will also build innovative new solutions to facilitate the issuance of e-passports.

Besides, Tata Consultancy Services will aim to further boost the citizen experience by employing technologies like biometrics, advance data analytics, artificial intelligence, chatbots, natural language processing, auto-response, and the cloud.
