Tata Power wins EPC contract for 1GW solar power plant in Rajasthan
Tata Power Solar has won an engineering, procurement, and construction contract worth around INR 5,500 crores for a 1GW solar power plant in Rajasthan from SJVN Ltd.
The EPC contract for the fully-owned subsidiary of Tata Power has been designed by considering the innovative use of ‘Make in India’ solar modules and cells.
According to Tata Power, the solar power project in Rajasthan will be developed under MNRE’s CPSU scheme. It is expected to be completed within a period of two years.
Spanning over 5,000 acres of land, the solar power plant aims at cutting down nearly 22,87,128kg of carbon emission and is estimated to produce close to 2,500 million units annually.

Following the contract in Rajasthan, Tata Power’s order booking has surpassed the INR 12000 crores-mark with a cumulative portfolio of over 9.3GW for utility scale renewables projects.
