Tata Power to build 300MW solar power plant in Barsingar for NLC India
Tata Power said that Tata Power Solar Systems Limited (TPSSL) will build a 300MW solar power plant in Barsingar, Bikaner district in Rajasthan for NLC India under an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract worth INR 1,755 crores.
Tata Power Solar Systems, which has been awarded a letter of award (LoA) in this connection, is a fully-owned subsidiary of Tata Power Renewable Energy.
The solar power project in Barsingar is expected to produce over 750 million units and offset six lakh tons of CO2 per year.
Tata Power Solar Systems will also manage the maintenance and operation for three years following the declaration of commercial operation (COD). This LoA for the solar power project has been obtained via a bidding competition.
The Barsingar solar power plant is expected to be operational within 18 months of the date of receipt of the LoA.
TPSSL will manage the entire project from design through commissioning and the evacuation system until the point of delivery.
Tata Power stated: “TPSSL has commissioned some of the most significant EPC and large-scale solar projects in the country. TPSSL is a trailblazer in developing and setting up customized renewable projects and with this win, its total portfolio will touch 11.5GWp.
“As on date, TPSSL’s total order book stands at about ₹17,000 crore.”
