Tata Power commissions 100MW solar power project in Partur for MSEDCL

Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd. (TPREL) has started operations of a 100MW /138MWp solar power project in Partur, Maharashtra for Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL).

According to the Tata Power subsidiary, the solar power project in Partur features more than 4,11,900 monocrystalline photovoltaic (PV) modules.

The Partur solar power plant is likely to offset nearly 234 million tons of CO2 annually.

It was executed by Tata Power Solar Systems, an EPC arm of Tata Power, within 3.5 months on 600 acres of land.

Tata Power Renewable Energy’s team of engineers undertook synchronized activities and within two months completed all the CMCS, switchyard, and the civil activities of the PV area. In the next one-and-a-half months, the team is said to have managed to complete AC readiness of all the blocks with 60MWp of MMS installation as well as 50MWp of module installation.

Commenting on the solar power project in Partur, Dr. Praveer Sinha — Tata Power CEO and MD said: “Commissioning of MSEDCL project in such a short timeframe is a testimony to Tata Power’s extraordinary project execution capabilities. It would help Maharashtra contribute to India’s ambitious renewable energy ambitions by increasing the share of renewable energy in the state’s overall energy mix.”
