Tata Consultancy Services roped in by Three UK to speed up 5G rollout

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has been selected by Three UK to help the UK mobile network carrier configure its mobile network for its ongoing launch of 5G services.

Three UK is deploying a new 5G radio access network which has gone live in 175 UK towns and cities across 1,000 plus sites.

Tata Consultancy Services has been selected as its partner for managing the configuration of a new core next generation mobile network, and for ensuring that the former correctly integrates with the 5G radio access network.

As part of this, the Indian IT services firm will configure the core network for new site deployments apart from carrying out site upgrades, performance management, and also 3G and 4G tuning changes.

According to Tata Consultancy Services, its software will accelerate configuration checking and cut down manual errors to ensure first time right network configuration.

The company is also offering round-the-clock support across the network for configuration corrections and also ad-hoc site testing. The enhancements from Tata Consultancy Services are expected to help Three UK provide faster, secure, and more reliable 5G services for its customers.
