Swire Coca-Cola acquires Cambodian Coca-Cola bottling business to foray into Southeast Asian beverage market

Swire Coca-Cola, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Swire Pacific, has acquired the bottling business of Cambodia Beverage Company, marking the company’s first foray into the Southeast Asian beverage market.

Cambodia Beverage Company is a subsidiary of Coca-Cola in Cambodia and employs approximately 900 people.

With the assumption of ownership of Cambodia Beverage Company, Swire Coca-Cola has begun the operations of its Cambodian franchise from 26 November 2022.

“Leveraging our proven strengths in commercial capabilities, marketing, supply chain, customer service and digitalisation in our existing operating regions combined with the strength and local expertise of our new colleagues, we will be able to continue serving the needs of our customers and consumers in Cambodia effectively and contribute positively to the local community.”

Swire Coca-Cola has also agreed to acquire Coca-Cola bottling businesses in Vietnam, subject to regulatory approval.

The fifth largest Coca-Cola bottler, by volume, produces, markets and distributes products of The Coca-Cola Company in Cambodia, 13 US states, Hong Kong SAR and Taiwan Region as well as 11 provinces and the Shanghai Municipality of the Chinese Mainland.

In 1965, Swire Coca-Cola acquired a majority stake in The Coca-Cola Hong Kong bottling company, marking the company’s franchisee relationship with Coca-Cola.

Swire Coca-Cola produces more than 60 beverage brands and distributes them to franchise population of approximately 780 million people.
