Food acquisition news : Maine-based specialty food manufacturer Stonewall Kitchen has completed its acquisition of Tillen Farms, a cocktail garnishes brand for an undisclosed price.

Tillen Farms’ products include uniquely-crisp pickled vegetables and Pacific Northwest cherries.

The brand, which was launched in 2004, boasts of a dozen cocktail garnishes supplied to grocery stores, specialty stores, health food stores, liquor and food service.

Stonewall Kitchen, a portfolio company of private equity firm Centre Partners, had entered into an agreement to acquire Tillen Farms in mid-December 2017 with a vision to create a premier specialty food platform in North America.

The specialty food manufacturer plans to use its expertise in brand building, product development and omni-channel distribution to continue to grow the combined businesses organically and by making more selective acquisitions.

Tillen Farms pickled vegetables are available in different varieties of asparagus, carrots, dilly beans and snap peas. On the other hand, its Pacific Northwest cherries range includes varieties like Merry Maraschino, Bada Bing, and Rainier Reserve.

Tillen Farms’ products are claimed to contain no artificial ingredients and are made using a processing technology that provides a high degree of crispness throughout the year.

Stonewall Kitchen is a manufacturer of jams, jellies, sauces, condiments, mustards, baking mixes among other specialty food products.
