SJVN to build 200MW solar power project in Maharashtra
SJVN Limited said that it has bagged a 200MW solar power project in Maharashtra, involving an investment of around INR 1,200 crores, on a build, own, and operate basis.
The company, which is a joint venture (JV) between the Indian and Himachal Pradesh governments, won the solar power plant after prevailing in a bidding auction held by Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL).
SJVN will execute a power purchase agreement (PPA) for the solar power project in Maharashtra after being issued a letter of intent (LOI) from MSEDCL. The PPA between SJVN and MSEDCL will be for 25 years and the project will be commissioned in a period of 18 months after the signing of the agreement.

The ground mounted solar power plant will be set up by SJVN anywhere in Maharashtra through an EPC contract.
SJVN stated: “The project is expected to generate 455.52 MUs in the 1st year and the cumulative energy generation over a period
of 25 years would be about 10480.82 MU.”
The company expects the solar power project in Maharashtra to offset 5,13,560 tonnes of carbon emissions per year.
