SJVN Limited wins 200MW solar power plant in Maharashtra from MSEDCL
Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam (SJVN Limited) said that its fully-owned subsidiary SJVN Green Energy has won a 200MW solar power plant in Maharashtra from Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL).
The solar power project was bagged on a build, own, and operate (BOO) basis via an e-reverse auction.
According to SJVN Limited, the solar power plant in Maharashtra will tentatively cost nearly INR 1,200 crores. The solar project is likely to produce 455.52 million units (MUs) in its first year of operations.
The cumulative energy generation of the SJVN power plant will be nearly 10480.82 MUs over a period of 25 years.

The company, which is a joint venture between the governments of India and Himachal Pradesh, expects the solar power plant in Maharashtra to offset 513,560 tonnes of carbon emissions.
SJVN Limited stated: “Currently the Company’s Renewable Portfolio stands at 4320.5 MW out of which 179.5 MW is under operation, 1385 MW under construction and 2756 is at different stages of implementation.”
Recently, SJVN Limited entered into a partnership with Assam Power Distribution Company Limited (APDCL) to develop 1GW floating solar power projects in Assam.
