Siemens Gamesa bags turbine contract from Eolus Vind for three Swedish wind farms

Siemens Gamesa Renewables has won a contract from Nordic wind power developer Eolus Vind to supply 11 of its 5.x series wind turbines for three Swedish wind farms – Boarp, Dållebo, and Rosenskog, that will have a combined capacity of 68MW.

The wind farms, which will be built in southern Sweden, will be powered with seven SG 5.8-170 wind turbines and four SG 5.8-155 wind turbines to be supplied in different power ratings.

Per Witalisson – Eolus CEO said: “At Eolus we are delighted to work with Siemens Gamesa and to use the 5.x platform to optimize production in these projects. Both in terms of installed capacity and rotor diameter these will be the largest wind turbines Eolus has established to date.”

According to Eolus Vind, the three Swedish wind farms are likely to be ready for operations in the autumn of 2023. All three wind farms will be supported by Siemens Gamesa through a 15-year service agreement.

Eolus Vind had recently entered into a deal to sell the three wind farms to Commerz Real for €82.5 million.

The 24.2MW Boarp wind farm, to be built in Vaggeryd municipality, will be powered by four SG 5.8-170 wind turbines.

The 17.8MW Rosenskog wind farm in Falköping municipality will have three SG5.8-170 wind turbines.

On the other hand, the 26.4MW Dållebo wind farm in Ulricehamn municipality will have four SG 5.8-155 wind turbines.
