Route Mobile wins contract for A2P SMS Firewall solution from Sri Lankan MNO

Route Mobile, an Indian Communication Platform as a Service (CPaaS) provider has entered into an exclusive SMS firewall solution and connectivity service agreement with an undisclosed mobile network operator (MNO) in Sri Lanka for providing an end-to-end A2P monetization suite for all international A2P SMS’ terminating on its network.

As per the terms of the deal, Route Mobile will be the mobile network operator’s exclusive partner for a two-year period.

The Indian CPaaS provider will offer its real-time artificial intelligence/machine learning (AI/ML) based A2P SMS Firewall solution to the Sri Lankan mobile network operator.

According to Route Mobile, its firewall solution will help the mobile network operator streamline monetization through effective monitoring, identifying, and filtering of grey route international A2P SMS traffic terminating on its network.

Besides, the Indian CPaaS company will provide managed services associated with the firewall solution to the Sri Lankan firm. As an exclusive partner, Route Mobile will also make use of its reach with large international enterprises to drive international A2P SMS traffic termination on the network of the Sri Lankan mobile network operator.

“While optimizing revenues for the MNO, this engagement also creates incremental revenue potential of approximately INR 130 crore, as per our internal estimates, for Route Mobile, over the contract’s tenure of two years. The engagement is slated to go live in around ten weeks from now.”

Recently, Route Mobile announced its foray into Saudi Arabia after securing a license from the country’s Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC).
